Palladium Athletic Facility FAQ

FAMILY CHANGING INFORMATION
The NYU Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation offers a family changing room in the Palladium Athletic Facility. It is available for any patron who wishes to use the room as a private locker, changing and/or restroom.

If you have any questions or are uncertain, please ask to speak to a facility supervisor.
MEMBERSHIP

How do I know if I am eligible for a membership?: Memberships to the Palladium are limited to members of the NYU community (students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni). Unfortunately we are not able to sell memberships to local residents that are not affiliated with the institution.

How much does it cost to become a member?
Students: If you are a matriculated student (part-time or full-time) currently taking 3 or more credits toward a degree, membership to the Palladium is included as part of your tuition package. All you need is your NYU ID for entry.

Faculty/Administrator/Staff: Most NYU employees are eligible to purchase a membership. Please click on the "Membership" tab on the Palladium website for rate information. If you have questions regarding rates and eligibility, please call the Membership Office at 212-992-8510.

Alumni: If you graduated from NYU and are in good standing with the university, you are eligible to purchase a membership.

Summer Students and Summer Residents: If you are a student that is either living in NYU housing or taking classes (at least 3 credits in a degree program) over the summer, then membership to the Palladium is included as part of your housing/tuition package for the duration of your class/stay.

NYU Students-Summer Access: If you are a student maintaining matriculation (you were enrolled this spring, are not taking summer classes and will be returning in the fall), you would need to purchase a membership for $53 for access during the summer.

What does membership entitle me to?: Membership to the Palladium includes full access to the facility as well as the Coles Sports and Recreation Center.

Who is eligible for a Family Membership?: If you are a student, your spouse or domestic partner is eligible for a membership. If you are a university employee, your spouse, domestic partner or children 16-21 years of age are eligible. Family memberships are not available for fiancés, parents, siblings, or other relatives.

After I graduate can I still work out at the Palladium?: Yes, however you would need to purchase an alumni membership.

GENERAL FACILITY

When are Activity Area Schedules updated?: All schedules are updated every Monday morning. Please check the activity area schedule for each room, as more areas are used for team practices, classes and special events throughout the year. Please be aware that all schedules are subject to change, and we try to update them as soon as there is a modification.

What is your guest policy?: members may bring up to 2 guests per day to the Palladium. Please note that there is a $10 guest fee valid for the entire day at the Palladium. The guest must have a valid photo ID, and the member must accompany the guest into the facility.

How can I rent a locker or get towel service?: To rent a locker, you would need to stop by the Palladium Membership Office. To purchase towel service, you can visit the Equipment Room at the Palladium-this can be done anytime the facility is open.

Do you have locks available for daily use or do I need to bring my own?: While you may bring your own lock you do not need to. We offer FREE daily issue locks. You can pick one up at the Equipment Room. We encourage all patrons to lock up their personal belongings in the locker rooms.

Can I take a tour?: Yes. Please feel free to stop by anytime we are open. If it's your first time using the Palladium we'd be happy to show you around.

How can I buy clothing from the Sweat-N-Shop?: If you would like to visit the store in person at the Palladium, you may do so anytime the facility is open. You can also shop online.

I want to work at the Palladium as a student employee, what do I need to do?: Please contact Alex Martinez, Human Resources Assistant (alex.martinez@nyu.edu). Employment application are available at the reception desk here at the Palladium.

I want to book an event at the Palladium-who do I need to contact?: Please click on the "Contact Us" and complete the Comments and Suggestions form. Please provide as much detail as possible.

RECREATION

How do I sign up for recreation classes?: All classes are offered through the recreation department. You must have a membership to be able to sign up for recreation class. There are different fees assocaited with each class, and more information can be found on the recreation website.

Does the recreation department offer "drop-in" classes?: No. Individuals must be registered for a class in advance.

Do you have personal trainers available?: In order to work with one of the department's personal trainers you must sign up through the recreation department classes. Those classes are PLD 101 Scult Express and PLD 102 VIP. please be advised that outside personal trainers are not permitted in the facility.

GUIDELINES FOR POLY STUDENTS USING NYU'S ATHLETIC FACILITIES

I am an NYU-Poly Student-can I access the Palladium?:

Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2011 NYU Poly students who are matriculated and enrolled in a degree granting program from NYU Poly will have access to Coles and Palladium. Access will be granted by presenting your NYU Poly student ID.

NYU Poly students may:
    - Sign in up to 2 guests per visit at $10 per guest (must have correct fee) 
    - Enroll in recreation classes (fees vary) 
    - Rent a locker (fees and availability vary) 
    - Subscribe for towel service ($25 per semester) 
    
NYU Poly students may not participate in NYU Washington Square: 
    - Intercollegiate Sports 
    - Club Sports 
    - Intramural program

Fall access begins 10/3/2011 and will end on 1/18/2012 unless enrolled for spring 2012. New spring 2012 Poly students will have access beginning 1/19/2012. All spring 2012 access will end on May 15, 2012.

NYU Poly students, faculty and staff continue to have free admission to all NYU varsity athletic contests, special events and to all “Tear It Up!” events.
