Magill Earns UAA Accolade

Grappler Honored For Championship Performance

Magill will compete in the Division III National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Junior wrestler Matt Magill has been named University Athletic Association Co-Athlete of the Week for his championship performance at the Metropolitan Conference Championships on Sunday.

Magill earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the event after winning all three of his bouts at 157 pounds. After out-pointing his first opponent from Wilkes University, 5-1, the #4-seeded Magill scored a 12-3 major decision over the top-seed and 2009 All-American from The College of New Jersey, Justin Bonitatis, in the semifinals. Magill then defeated the #3 seed, Taylor Green of King's College, 5-4 in the finals.

By winning his weight class, Magill qualified for the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships for the first time in his career. 

The NCAA's will be held March 4-6 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
